  Does the Governing Body practice what they preach and go door to door or stand behind the carts?

  i would think with all their demands on the rank and file that they should all at least get there 10 hours in a month.

  just curious.

  A question for mothers...

  a human being, your child, was conceived, grew in you, and on one special day you delivered your child into this world.

  a truly miraculous thing in and of itself.. when you were a jw, although forbidden to celebrate evil birthdays (sarcasm), did your heart ever ache contrary to watchtower teaching and want to shower your child with love and thankfulness?

  i would think that if a religion were to believe in god, then their doctrine should have god somehow responsible for the act of procreation, birth, love, etc.

  Gas Pump "Witnessing"....Is this a thing?

  i've seen this twice now within a month.

  a car group hanging out at a gas station.

  one of the cult members jumps outs of their car and runs up to a "worldly" gas pumper, arm stretched out, tract in hand, and here comes the juvenile at best question.

  there can be so much shit in this world.

  groups like jw's and other cults who can tear apart families and inflict mental and emotional harm to radical groups like isil who murder innocent people.

  it just all seems like such utter bullshit.. then their are special people in this world that help inspire and bring hope.. i don't know if this is true or not, but i feel like this person's act of kindness is more powerful than anything the jw religion has done in it's entire existence.. http://www.greatbigstory.com/stories/the-gnomist.

  sorry if this has already been discussed, but,...besides, of course, a black eye on the org, what can come of this royal commission hearing legally or criminally?

  according to the rc's website:.

  "the royal commission holds formal public hearings to hear evidence about child sexual abuse within institutions.

  Did the society official track each member of the 144,000?

  when i left witness land in the early 90's, i remember hearing that out of 144,000 anointed members that there were only 8 to 9 thousand left and then the end will come.. i'm suddenly curious.

  the jw organization is one that puts emphasis on tracking, i.e., regular meeting attendance, current standing, field service hours, territory tracking, return visits, etc.

  therefore, did the society ever try to track each and every member of the 144,000?

  Door to door non-denomination christians

  so a young man and a young woman approached my new investment property yesterday and opened with the line,..."hi, we are just talking to people in the neigborhood about jesus.

  they were dressed in street clothes so i was kind of taken aback.

  they are missionaries and there are group of about 15 of them that are attending to my neigborhood and surrounding neigborhoods.

  "The Truth", who coined the term, when did it begin circulating in JW land

  anytime i hear one of my family members or any other jw say the phrase "the truth" in a sentence it makes my blood boil.

  christians of different denominations may ask each other: .

  "how long have you been a christian?".

  Should I talk to Joel Engardio on the phone? What would you ask him?

  so i met this girl last night whose best friend is best friends with joel engardio.

  i said that i would really like to talk to him and she said that she could get me his phone number and he would be happy to speak with me.

  i haven't seen the film "knocking" yet,...so i don't really know what i would discuss with him at this point.
